Question: Can
chiropractic help me even if my medical doctor hasn't prescribed
it?
DR Houk: Yes,
a chiropractor has much more extensive training in problems of the
spine. A chiropractor is the only person qualified to determine
if a problem can be treated with chiropractic care.
Question: Do chiropractors
treat other problems in addition to problems of the spine?
DR Houk: Yes.
Your nervous system controls every part and function of your body.
Subluxations of your spine can press or pinch nerves that control
almost any part of your body. Through adjustments of the spine,
a chiropractor can help many problems that may not seem to be related.
Question: Am I
too old for chiropractic?
DR Houk: No. Chiropractors
employ various adjusting techniques. Some are very gentle non-force
techniques specifically appropriate for the elderly.
Question: Will
my insurance cover chiropractic care?
DR Houk:
Yes. My office accepts Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Medicare, No-fault
and Worker's Compensation. Most insurance companies understand the
benefits of chiropractic care and will pay for the services.
Question: Can
chiropractic care help my children?
DR Houk: Yes.
As we are all well aware, children become injured or fall down.
It's part of childhood. This can occasionally cause problems where
some of these problems may not show up for years. Chiropractic can
detect and correct these problems before they manifest themselves
painfully in adulthood
